New blackberry varieties Natchez and Ouachita, which were created in the University of Arkansas, will soon be registered in Ukraine. The administrator of these varieties in Europe, Global Plant Genetics Ltd, plans to commercialize Natchez and Ouachita in Ukraine in cooperation with FruiTech LLC.
Currently, FruiTech is working on creating a stock of high health mother material of Natchez and Ouachita blackberries, which will allow licensed Ukrainian nurseries to get the access to the Basic material. Already from the next season, Ukrainian fruit growers will be able to purchase high-quality certified blackberry planting material for their new productive plantations.
